Organic ice cream and frozen yogurt made right on the farm. Meet the cows that provide the ice cream!

Sosnicki Organic Produce •     WATERFORD (Ben & Jessie Sosnicki)

FG, FM: Organic produce including;  lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, onions, beets, carrots, and more available at Dufferin Grove, Riverdale Farm. Farmgate sales Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. During winter their organic cabbage rolls and perogies for sale.

Bousfield's Apples & Cider (& much more) • MILTON (Roy, Eleanor, and Paul Bousfield)

 FG: At The Country Store, you can obtain organic cider, apples, pears, garlic & other vegetables and Oak Manor grains. Open Fri-Sun, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Sept. From Sept. to Dec., open daily.

Lieberthal Farm • CAMPBELLVILLE (Gaille & Mark Lieberthal)

FG: Organic chicken, beef, lamb, salami, eggs, honey, maple syrup, organic milk, cheeses, butter, fair trade organic coffee, and more. Available at Greenfield’s Organic Farm Wednesdays 2:30 - 7 p.m. and also available at The Village Market — Toronto Waldorf School, Thornhill, ON.

Greenfield's Organic Farm • CAMPBELLVILLE, ON (Lorenz Eppinger)

FM, OCPP certified: Farm fresh vegetables and strawberries grown organically. At Guelph Farmers’ Market Sat. 7 a.m. to noon; Dufferin Grove Park in Toronto on Thursdays 3:30 to 7 p.m., both year round. Roadside by chance in season, Red Barn Market year round; Wednesdays 2:30 to 7 p.m. (produce, eggs, maple syrup, baking, etc.) Tuesdays at Stonegate Farmers market in Toronto (June-October).

Pfenning's Organic Vegetables Inc. • BADEN

FM, FG Grower, wholesaler and distributor of certified organic seasonal fresh vegetables and imported off-season and tropical produce. Pfenning’s Organic Vegetables is a family-run farm emphasizing local first. Farm-grown produce includes carrots, potatoes, onions, broccoli, kale, chard, red leaf, green leaf and romaine lettuces, dandelion, parsley, spinach, parsnip and beets on a 300-acre farm. Pfenning’s also produce and pack raw sauerkraut according to a traditional German recipe. Other local products distributed for fellow farmers are leeks, rutabaga, jerusalem artichoke, shiitake and button mushrooms, strawberries, zucchini, herbs, shallots, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, cold-pressed sunflower oil, and the list continues to grow.

Fenwood Farm • ANCASTER, ON

FG: Organic and free range grain-fed chicken, gluten- and nitrate-free sausages., venison, wild caught seafood, emu oil and soap, organic pork and beef, Mapleton's organic ice cream and frozen yogurt, and organic pet food.

Moondance Organic Gardens • ANGUS

CSA, Farmgate Sales, Natural Skin Care Products. Two acre market garden providing veggies to  50 CSA subscribers and onsite market stand, volunteering opportunities, herbs, cut flowers, perennials and natural skin care products.  Open Thurs. to Sat. 10am to 5 pm  Other times by chance or by appointment

Maranatha Farms • ORANGEVILLE, ON (Lynne and Mike Hubbard)

OCPP Certified, FG: Many varieties of potatoes, asparagus, squash, pumpkins, onions and grains. Call to place an order or call to arrange a visit from Monday to-Saturday. Closed Sundays. Produce is available from August to June.

Everdale Organic Farm and  Environmental Learning Centre.  HILLSBURGH

CSA/ Farmgate: Forty different vegetables. Eggs and meat. Everdale has a local CSA and a farm store (open on Saturdays only). Their produce can also be purchased in Toronto through Front Door Organics, Field to Table, WOW foods. Everdale also offers workshops on straw bale construction, biodiesel, greywater, medicinal herbs and hosts numberous all ages events. The 50-acre property encompasses a working organic farm, forests, meadows, nature trail, cut flower garden, and demonstration models of sustainable technologies including Home Alive! The House that Thinks, Drinks, and Breathes. Six-month apprenticeship program for people to learn about organic farming.

Plan B Organic Farm • HAMILTON (Melanie, Alvaro & Rodrigo Venturelli)

CSA, FM: 450-acre organic vegetable and herb farm established in 1997, with a 350-family CSA serving Hamilton, Halton, Toronto. Weekly farmers' markets — Thursday at Dufferin Grove Market (Toronto), Saturday at Hamilton Farmer’s Market and Milton Market.

Avalon Apple Orchard • INNISFIL (Gaye Trombley)
